Wisconsin Dells are a Family Fun Vacation Destination

Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin is a fun destination for family holidays, and a little research and advance planning the trip does not have to make your wallet scream in pain.

Wisconsin Dells (and the area is really two cities: Wisconsin Dells and Lake Delton) has been a popular summer vacation destination for people living in the Midwest since the 1800s. In recent years, several water parks interior have been built a year ago around Wisconsin Dells popular holiday destination, not only for people living in the Midwest, but for people around the world.

What first drew tourists to the Wisconsin Dells area? It was the scene. The Wisconsin River meanders through the area and has beautiful Wisconsin Dells sandstone formations. A trip to Wisconsin Dells would be complete without a boat ride of these rock formations.

There are two basic choices of travel or the boat trip or a "duck" tour that also includes some sightseeing in the land. If you have small children who enjoy the "duck" tour more.

If you take a boat ride, take a couple of options. You will be able to take a Dells "superior" for tourism, a Dells "inferior" tourism, or both. Upper Dells boat tour lasts approximately 2 hours and lower Dells boat ride lasts about 1 hour. The top includes a tour Dells few bus stops from coast to see some outstanding landmarks.

The "duck" tour is a combination of land and water tour. It is a fun way to see some of the beautiful landscapes of the earth and water. And the tour is a great hit with kids of all ages! My family makes a trip to Wisconsin Dells most years and go on tour Pato almost all travel, we found that very funny. The "duck" vehicles used for visits are used in amphibious vehicles World War II have been renovated. The tour begins on land. During the tour will take you through the streets of Wisconsin Dells, through lovely wooded areas where Wildlife is often seen (often see white-tailed deer) and so is the fun part of the trip.

The driver drives a duck in the water with a big splash – well, usually with a big splash. The driver will ask customers if they want to go into slow or fast water, it quickly became some of the people wet. In all I've been touring on the trip faster in water has won the vote and it's fun! After twists and turns of forest roads (some steep narrow, but always safe) the water of the trip is a good change of pace. After being in the water for a while and see some of the impressive sandstone formations, your driver will take you back to the mainland and the journey is full of fun. Throughout the tour driver entertains you with fun and informative narration.

Even though our family loves to go on the duck tour when we go to Wisconsin Dells, if you have a choice of only one activity to do, go to a water park wins hands down. More than 20 water parks in Wisconsin Dells. There are outdoor parks, water, water parks, and the combination of indoor water parks outdoors. So no matter what time of year you want to splash in the water and enjoy what you do in Wisconsin Dells.

Our family usually takes a summer trip to Wisconsin Dells. And with the mid-summer temperatures in the 90s, and even at times in the decade of 100, splashing in the water is very refreshing. Our favorite family water park outside of Noah's Ark is now the largest outdoor water park in Wisconsin Dells. You can spend a whole day there and not get bored. I have a few tips for you though if you go to the Ark of Noah (or any of the Wisconsin Dells water parks) to help keep costs down and to make the journey as pleasant as possible.

1) If possible, do not buy their tickets at the door the day you want to go to the park. You have to pay full price and there are plenty of ways to find discounted tickets. If you live in the Midwest, contact your local Parks and Recreation to see if they have entries Discount available. Also check your destination to see if they offer discounted tickets. An Internet search can also give you sources of discounted tickets. Another option is to go to the center of Lake Delton Wisconsin Dells or before going to Noah's Ark and stop at one of the lockers there. Almost always you can purchase discount tickets there especially if you are planning to do more than one activity while in Wisconsin Dells. For example, if you are planning to go to a water park, visit duck tour, go to a show of water, and go to an amusement park to ride roller coasters and go-karts you can get some pretty good discounts to purchase all your tickets at the same time.

2) Take waterproof sunscreen. You'll be in and out of the water all day to make sure you have proof sunscreen water in order to avoid having to reapply sunscreen throughout the day constantly.

3) Take towels. It may seem a silly topic list but it is surprising how many people forget to take a towel. You can buy beach towels in water parks, but are expensive.

3) Consider rent a locker in the park. Rental Lockers are available in the park for a nominal fee. I always rent a locker and put on dry clothes for my family in the closet, along with things that do not want to carry around all day, as my sunscreen. At the end of the day recovered the clothes and change into dry

4) Take stock Plastic products for your bathing suit and towels.

5) Take a small waterproof container for extra money. Get one that attaches to your wrist or hang around neck. If you do not have one or know where to buy one, you can buy a low cost in a store inside the water park.

6) Bring your own lunch. There are several covered picnic areas within the water park available free for use, although it is likely some will not be available in a given day, and will be reserved for groups that are in the park. Even if you do not want to pack a refrigerator at home, bring the empty refrigerator and pick up your items in a grocery store the day before. Although there is no good food available inside the water park is expensive and very soon became a big dent in its pocket.

7) Bring water shoes. Sandals are fine too, but wishes that friends are the water usually means flip-flops and can easily fall of your feet when you're in some of the attractions. Advise not to go barefoot. The park is paved and a sunny day if the pavement gets very hot.

8) Go to games in the early morning and late in the day. That's when the lines are shorter. The lines are very long in the middle of the day. Have your picnic lunch at the time, do some browsing in stores water park, and take a short break before returning to the games.

Turning to the ducks a boat trip and go to a water park are not the only activities to do in the Wisconsin Dells area. You might be busy for weeks (if your pocket can handle) all activities available to you. You can ride horses, go-karts, riding on roller coasters, shopping, take the Tommy Bartlett water show; miniature golf, play golf on one of the regular golf, rent a boat and go fishing (you'll need to purchase a Wisconsin fishing license), lease a canoe and go canoeing, enjoy the movie at the outdoor movie theater, rent a jet-ski, visit the railway museum, visit the history center, paintball play, or do any of the dozens of other activities available. You could even take a short trip to Baraboo and see the Al Ringling There are literally hundreds of things to do in the Wisconsin Dells area.

I have one more thing to keep in mind as you are planning your trip to Wisconsin Dells. August is the busiest month in Wisconsin Dells. How busy? Consider this: Lake Delton and Wisconsin Dells have a year round combined population of about 5,000 people. During weekends in August population / area of Lake Delton Wisconsin Dells may increase to more than 200,000 people. The lines at the attractions will be the longest in August and hotels can be booked solid (I mean if you're scared. Our family is usually in August even though he knows he'll be very busy and have a good time.) Book your hotel early or consider going there at other times during the summer. June is not so busy, but time can not be so hot either which means it could be a little chilly if you will visit one of the outdoor water parks.
