If you've spent much time building a PowerPoint presentation, then you know how hard it can be to create an effective presentation. Here there are five "insider" secrets of professional PowerPoint designers to help you start and maintain your audience's attention.

1. Consistency means professional polish. You want the audience to focus on content, not delivery. The best way is to create a transparent approach to be as consistent as possible in the use of all elements of your presentation, from fonts, colors, designs, animations and slide transitions. For example, if you dare a bulleted list using a fade effect, work much better if you stick with that instead of deciding to animate the list along with a curve up "animation.

2. Variety is the spice of life, and their presentation. This may seem a direct contradiction to secret # 1, but it is not. You need to find a way visual reference to his audience that a new slide appeared, and therefore must be different from the previous slide, in any obvious way. Moreover, if all looks very similar slides, your audience will quickly become bored. It is important to use variations within its framework of coherence. For example, suppose you ever decide slide with the title of being white text within a blue rectangle and automatically animate each new slide. You may decide to animate the title bar to the left of the slide 1 and then from the right on slide 2, and keep alternating. This presentation has a clear style, but with substantial changes.

3. Using both images and text. Some people are more verbal (text) oriented, and some are more visual (image) oriented. If your presentation uses both images and text, will be communicated to more people than just one or the other. It may be time to find relevant images, to allow time enough for this to make your PowerPoint presentation.

4. Be Bold. PowerPoint slides, tend to work best when they are clear and bold. Follow the advice of Famous designers sign that said "Do something that can be read from a car zooming by at 60 miles per hour, at night during a rainstorm, and through a dirty windshield. "Do everything in nice and big slide. text should not be less than 16 points. If the presentation is supporting a live speaker, then keep the text as short as possible, so that you can make it big and clear. For example, instead of typing "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog ", the path of Zen PowerPoint is," Fox jumped over dog. "He can take his rightful place in the spotlight informing the audience that the dog was brown fox and lazy. If you are creating a stand-alone presentation, more information is necessary to on the slides. For help with that, see the next secret.

5. Spacing. A common question is, "I have 25 minutes to present and slides then How many should I do? "There is no fixed rule, but it is useful to keep in mind the following. It's much more interesting and appealing to the public have Information spaced over several slides advancing rapidly, that some slides that sit on the screen to look like an eternity that are filled so much content that are difficult to read. Remember that most people watch TV and movies, the images change every few seconds. If the slides change frequently, then you will be less likely to hear snoring from the back row.

Finally, keep this observation design information guru Edward Tufte in mind: "The best way to improve your PowerPoint presentation is to improve the content."
