If you are active in the online marketing industry, you've heard about most such as Melaleuca. I was recently asked if someone is a scam or legitimate. I have researched this company and here is my personal, impartial review.
About Company
Melaleuca, The Wellness Company Founded in 1985 by Frank Vandersloot. Before Frank took over Melaleuca, which had been making some false marketing claims, not supported by FDA (Food and Drug Administration). When Frank took over, immediately renewed the compensation plan, which meant that the opportunity offered much more favorable for trade with Mexico. All representatives were encouraged to start recruiting more people, rather than selling the actual product. Since then the company has seen its sales grow and became more established in many countries around the world.
Products
When the company was founded, its product line consists of a plant extract Melaleuca. (A genus of plants in the myrtle family Myrtaceae. There are over 200 recognized species, most that are endemic to Australia. Source: Wikipedia). Today, its product line is now much broader and includes personal care, pharmaceuticals, household cleaning and nutritional supplements. Most products are organic.
The business opportunity
This is a Typical Network Marketing / Multi Level Marketing business. Knowing this, to make decent dollars and succeed, you have to build a downline substantial customer who either buy the products, or become a distributor and start to recruit others. This can be achieved by organizing parties at home, the hotel meeting or simply cold calling. The best way to start is in the "hot market", so family and friends. It's my personal opinion that once you have reached this market will be difficult to sell the product or attract new people to their downline.
My conclusion
Melaleuca is not a scam. They are reliable and offer a strong product line to sell. I think however that this business is not for everyone. If you like to annoy your friends and family parties amenities, hotel presentations and meetings and cold calling, then this may be your thing. If you are looking for a bargain from home, I strongly recommend you find a company that offers a very solid, up-to-date tutorial and marketing package with ongoing training through the week, live webinars. You must learn to master all the marketing methods and current strategies in order to succeed. If you find the right program, you reach your financial goals, you begin earning significant (residual) income.
