What do you rescue the auto industry?
Do you agree with using tax money to keep several large companies bancruptcy private to the "good of the economy"? Second, if "right" to bail out the companies for the good of the economy national, what happens with other companies or businesses that affect local economies? For example, the holder in Missouri City affected by hard times, must have a plan to rescue a local restaurant? Or what about a national plan to rescue the accountants who have hundreds and thousands of customers who are trying to save money and do your taxes on your own? Or what about travlel agencies that have lost business to people who can not afford to go on vacation? Conclusion my question is …. if it is okay to bail out companies who made millions and are now fighting in the private sector, which is our approach to rescue other business sectors well?
There once was a pulp mill in Prince Rupert that went bankrupt. The provincial government rescued out. The pulp market has been quite competitive over time. Shortly after the rescue, the pulp mill in Gold River was closed. Then the pulp mill in Port Alice was closed. There are those who say that if the plant Cellulose in Prince Rupert had been closed the mills, both in Rio de Oro and Puerto Alice would have stayed open. The pulp mill in Prince Rupert was inefficient. It closed a few years later despite the rescue earlier. The team was sold to a Chinese company. Now that the pulp mills in China and pulp up and down the coast are closing. Same same for the auto industry. There is an oversupply of producers. The so-called Big Three can not compete with other manufacturers and they have not done in 30 years. The only reason we are still open is because trucks and SUVs sold to people who did not care about consumption of gas and not worry about quality because it was built 'american'. The bailout is a travesty. You only delay getting to the bottom of the economic crisis and will unnecessary stress on the car manufacturers that are competitive. The rescue plan will function as positive feedback and make the economic equilibrium to go even more useless. The end result will be more car manufacturers out of business.
